About Puglia Everyday

Puglia Everyday is written by a family living in Puglia. We write practical guides for two kinds of readers: people living in Puglia or thinking of moving here, and families visiting the region with children.

What we cover

• Living in Puglia: the practical side of daily life, including residency and paperwork, healthcare, schools and childcare, family benefits, the cost of living, buying or renting a home, and running a small business or paying tax in Italy. See Puglia Living, Moving to Italy and Business.
• Visiting with kids: beaches, towns, restaurants and days out, with notes on what works for children. See Travel and Family.

How we research and check our guides

We try to make every guide something you can act on, and something you can check for yourself.

• Official sources first. For rules, fees and benefits, we go to the source: INPS for family benefits, ARERA for energy prices, the Agenzia delle Entrate for tax, the Regione Puglia and the local comune for regional and municipal rules, and FEE Italia for the Blue Flag beaches. We link these sources in the article so you can check them.
• Places checked before we publish. For restaurants, beaches and other places, we check current listings and official websites when we update a guide, and we leave out places that appear to have closed.
• Clear about estimates. Where a figure is our own estimate, such as a monthly budget, we say how we worked it out. Prices and rules change, so treat figures as a guide and confirm anything important before you rely on it.
• Not professional advice. Our guides explain how things work, but they don’t replace a lawyer, a commercialista (accountant), a notary or a doctor who knows your situation.

Last-updated dates

Each guide we’ve reviewed shows a “Last updated” date at the top, so you can see how current it is. We’re working through our older articles and adding the date as we recheck each one.
